Evernote In the Art Classroom

Since I have used portfolios many times in the past, using a digital notebook just seems practical. I have used large poster sized portfolios for my art class students for many years - with great success because the artwork of my students is usually 9 x 12 or larger. Now with the use of Evernote for the classroom all of my young artists can catalog their works of art into digital format to share with me or their friends. Be not confused, students will always keep several of their very best original "hard copy" works of art to put on the refrigerator at home or frame for grandmother's birthday but creating a digital collection of each piece will no doubt show a progression from apprentice to expert artist. Each digital copy of the artwork can contain notes about the techniques of the medium and how to improve notes from the teacher. There are many areas of studies that having a digital form of presentation will just not do and some may think the art room is one of these but to the contrary, having a visual history of the artifacts made by each artist as they progress through the learning process can be a valuable resource.
